Welcome to Gallery & Atelier Roosenburg in Gouda. View our collection of masterpieces, own work, and objects.
On February 26, we welcomed residents of Het Sint Jozefpaviljoen from Gouda for a special guided tour, organized by Domus Valuas. Paintings brought memories to life and sparked wonderful conversations – a visit to look back on with warmth. Art connects generations!
Kees and Lia Roosenburg took the guests into the world of romantic painting. Stories about classical art and 19th-century cityscapes and landscapes evoked recognition, nostalgia, and admiration.

Kees shared his experience as a painter and his inspiration from the old masters. His son Arjan brings inspiration and new acquisitions as a collector. Their shared passion for the romantic 19th century forms the foundation of Kunst van Roosenburg.
During the tour, visitors learned to look differently: at brushstrokes, use of color, and materials. The objects – from Delft Blue to bronze sculptures – were also discussed. In the gallery, alongside craftsmanship and detail, the preservation of art is also central. For example, the fully restored work by Dommersen from 1879 'Cityscape of Haarlem' was on display.

This meeting shows what art is all about: connecting, touching, and sharing stories. Of course, accompanied by a cup of coffee and something tasty. You're never too old for such a visit! That's why we also organize small-scale tours for groups of up to six people. Curious about the possibilities? Feel free to contact us.
